All Electronic Waste is  $.26 per pound.
Electronic waste, or e-waste, is defined as anything with a circuit board and or cathode ray tube (CRT). Examples of accepted items include: computer monitors and CPUs, televisions, and VCRs. E-waste does not include food preparation or personal care appliances.

Asbestos Disposal Policy

The Jackson County Transfer Station is not permitted to accept ASBESTOS CONTAINING MATERIAL (ACM).

Therefore:

Anyone wishing to dispose of commercial construction and demolition waste must provide proof from a certified laboratory that the material being disposed of is not asbestos containing material.  This policy shall also include an individual wishing to dispose of TRANSITE SLATE TYPE SIDING typically found on older homes.  Asphalt roofing shingles are exempt under this policy.

A list of certified laboratories can be obtained by calling the Agency office at 563-652-5658 or by looking in the phone book under ASBESTOS ABATEMENT.

Effective May 1st  2009, the rate for untarped and unsecured

 material to be disposed of at the Jackson County Transfer Station

will be $60.00 per ton with a minimum of $15.00

 Rates for covered material will remain at

$40.00 per ton for Residential Waste & $50.00

 for Construction & Demolition Waste
