The Jackson County Transfer Station is a facility where residents can bring waste material if they do not have local refuse collection at their home or business. The waste collected at the transfer station is loaded onto semi trailers and shipped to a cooperating landfill in Illinois.
Waste hauled to the transfer station must be covered to prevent loss during transport. Disposal rates are based on the weight of the material and vary according to type of waste.
