On day 2 of the 19th JCSDA Technical Review and Science Workshop, the JEDI team ran the first ever live demonstration of Skylab, the generic testbed for JEDI that demonstrates how all the system’s components are preparing for operational deployment. Like JEDI, Skylab supports more than one model, and is the only environment/workflow that does so. Skylab is set up and ready to run experiments in minutes, as exhibited in the live demo. This Skylab demo also proved that JEDI can produce the same diagnostics for different DA algorithms and different models. Altogether, the workshop Skylab demonstration showed that JEDI is a reality, and well on its way to operational use.
